Costs more at install and lasts far longer here. It won't rust, it comes in colors that match most siding and trim, and we form it seamlessly on site so there are no joints to fail.
Costs more than aluminum but lasts a lifetime and develops the patina people want on older homes. We do a fair amount of copper work around Lexington's historic districts.
Cheaper up front and fine in mild climates. Kentucky isn't one. Vinyl gets brittle in winter cold and sags in summer heat, and the sectional joints separate over time. We get calls every spring from people whose vinyl gutters came apart under ice load.
